Trash Pickup Information

The City of Wentzville contracts residential waste, recycling and yard waste collection through J Hunt Hauling. This has enabled the City to provide a high level of service for all households at lower rates. Sanitation costs are consolidated with the water and sewer service monthly bill.

Trash is picked up from all households in Wentzville twice each week. Residents living north of the railroad tracks will have pick up days on Monday and Thursday, while those living south of the railroad tracks have pick up days on Tuesday and Friday. Recycling and yard waste is picked up on Wednesday.

Current 2008 rates are as follows (effective May 1, 2008):

• Sanitation twice weekly - $13.05/month
  This is standard for all residents and includes twice a week pick up and recycling.
  A recycle bin is provided at no additional cost to you.
• Sanitation Senior Rate (62 or older) - $12.55/month
• Yard Waste (April – November) - $6.95/month (optional)
• Trash Containers (96 gallon on wheels) - $2.75/month (optional)
• Yard Waste Containers (96 gallon on wheels) - $2.75/month (optional)
• Large Item Pick Up - $15.25/item

Pick up days are as follows: Monday and Thursday for residents North of the railroad tracks; and Tuesday and Friday for residents South of the track. Pick up for recycling and yard waste is on Wednesdays.

Holidays

Whenever a holiday (listed below) falls on your trash day, the pickup will be the following day. All normal collections will occur one day later than normal. For example: if the holiday is on Monday, the north side will be picked up on Tuesday and Friday and the south side will be picked up on Wednesday and Saturday. Recycling, yard waste and large items will be picked up on Thursday.

Setup Trash Service

You can set up trash service along with water and sewer service on the Occupancy Permit Form. If you wish to add or change service, please call Public Works at 327-5102.
