Senior Utility Tax Rebate Program
Eligible seniors or residents with qualifying disabilities can apply for a refund of their prior year City utility tax from the City during the period of April 1 through May 31. This amount is listed on last year’s electric, gas, and primary phone bills as “City Tax”, “Wentzville Muni Chg”, or “Wentzville City Franchise.”
To apply, bring proof of income, age and/or disability, and your electric, gas and primary phone bills to the Utility Service Center at 5 W Pearce Blvd or City Hall. Also, to comply with Missouri's section 208.009 that prohibits a local public benefit being distributed to illegal aliens, residents will be required to present one of the following: a driver's license, Social Security Card or birth certificate. Eligibility requirements include: Wentzville residency (owning or renting primary residence in Wentzville); at least 65 years of age or considered totally disabled by Social Security; and maximum gross income (all sources of income including Social Security) of $39,450 for single households and $45,050 for married households.
Refunds are only for the months when the resident was at least 65 years old or considered totally disabled.
Call City Hall (636) 327-5101 or the Utility Service Center (636) 639-2155 if you have further questions regarding this program.
