Occupancy Inspections and Permit Information
An Occupancy Permit is required whenever a change in use, tenancy, or occupancy of a building, structure, land or portion thereof changes by either sale, lease or rent. The occupancy permit may be obtained by the seller/owner/landlord or the buyer prior to possession. The permit requires an inspection at which time the premises will be checked for any life safety and/or code issues that may be present. An approved occupany permit is valid for 90 days or until the premises are occupied, whichever first occurs.
