Friends of Wentzville Parks
As the City of Wentzville population continues to grow, maintaining existing land, facilities and programs combined with developing the new requirements to service a city that has tripled in size can be somewhat challenging.
A group of citizens has stepped forward to help the City provide the services required to offer a high quality of life within the community. Greg Younger saw a need and decided to do something about it. He recruited Mark Horst and additional citizens, to be a part of the organization and on January 13, 2009 the State of Missouri officially recognized Friends of Wentzville Parks as a nonprofit organization.
Since then, an additional thirty people have volunteered to be a part of the organization which will focus on providing time, talent and funds to the parks and recreation department. The primary goal of the organization is to help the department meet the needs of the community by organizing volunteers, gathering people as resources and doing fund raising to provide financial assistance.
The organization meets the last Thursday of each month at Progress Park. For more information you may contact Greg Younger at (636) 405-5004 or email at gregory.d.younger@ampf.com .
