US 61 West Outer Road Extension Phase 1

Project Description:

• The US-61 West Outer Road Extension – Phase 1 project will consist of constructing a new west outer roadway for US Route 61 from Peine Loop Road to 400’ North of Champions Lane. Work will include concrete paving, earthwork, box culvert extension, storm sewer construction, pavement markings and signage.

Project Status:

• On 03/13/2017 notice to proceed was issued to Karrenbrock Construction. Work began promptly with the contractor delivering and installing temporary traffic control devices.
• On 03/17/2017 Karrenbrock Construction began cleaning and grubbing the project limits and will begin grading the Southern half of the project soon.

• On 04/24/2017 Karrenbrock Construction completed the grading and the paving of the outer road south of the box culvert that runs under Route 61. Karrenbrock will soon begin the installation and relocation of utilities, extending the existing box culvert and grading and paving on the north side of the project.
