Ongoing Programs

Feb. to Oct.   Stormwater Advisory Committee Meetings  

Contribute ideas and find out what we're doing to improve water quality.  Meetings bi-monthly.  Time: 6 p.m. Location: Wentzville City Hall

Jan. 10 to Nov. 7  Native Plant School 
This mostly outdoor learning series and tour for the home landscaper covers native plants, rain gardening, lake landscaping, etc.  Bring questions, photos, plant specimens, etc. Register online or call (636) 451-3512. Location: Shaw Nature Reserve, Gray Summit.

May thru Sept.  Household Chemical Collections  
Bring hazardous items for safe disposal Tuesday through Friday and the last Saturday of each month between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.  There is a $10 fee for drop-off and loads must weigh under 50 pounds. Click here for items accepted and instructions.

Mar. 12   Master Gardener Plant Sale
Hosted by the St. Charles County Master Gardeners.  Cool season vegetables (PDF list of plants) will be sold in the greenhouse on site.  Come early for best selection!   Location: University of Missouri Extension Center of St. Charles County, St. Peters  Time: 9 a.m. - noon

Apr. 2   Mission: Clean Stream & GM Earth Day Festival    
14th annual stream cleanup, 5K Race for the Rivers, live music, electronics recycling, kids activities and more.  Location: Rotary Park  Time: 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Apr. 7  St. Louis Regional Envirothon    
High school teams compete in aquatics, soils, forestry, wildlife, and a current issue.  Call (636) 922-2833 ext. 3 for details.  Location: Brommelsiek Park, St. Charles

Apr. 30   Master Gardener Plant Sale
Hosted by the St. Charles County Master Gardeners.  Spring and summer annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, fruit, Missouri natives, seeds, bulbs and more.  Come early for best selection!   Location: University of Missouri Extension Center of St. Charles County, St. Peters  Time: 9 a.m. - noon

May 7 
  Master Gardener Plant Sale

Sept./Oct.  Stream Team Level I Training

(Dates announced in June.)  Help monitor a creek Wentzville! Attendance is limited.  Click the link for info and other training opportunities. Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Location: TBD

Sept. 18    World Water Monitoring Day    
Host your own monitoring event anytime from Mar. 22 to Dec. 31 and submit data online. Ideas include organizing a trash cleanup, going on a watershed walkabout, stream monitoring, or talking to your school or neighborhood about water pollution prevention.  Contact (636) 639-2055 for support.

Oct. 22  Make a Difference Day

 Seeded Landscape Bus Tour 
Shaw Professional Landscaping Series.  Hosted by Shaw Nature Reserve.  Learn how to plan and use native landscapes in your yard and in our community.  Location details and registration to follow soon.  Time: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
