Youth and Teen Summer Programs

This summer, the Wentzville Police Department will offer a Junior Academy and Rookie Retreat the week of July 16-20. The Rookie Retreat is for students entering 4th-6th grades and will be held from 8 a.m. to noon each day. The Teen Academy is for students entering 7th-12th grades and will be held from 1-5 p.m. each day.

The sessions will be held at Wentzville Christian Church, located at 1507 Highway Z. Both sessions will be led by the D.A.R.E. Officer and School Resource Officers, in hopes of reinforcing positive relationships between police and youth.

Students will be exposed to various areas of law enforcement such as the Bomb Disposal Unit, K-9, SWAT, Metro Air Support, alcohol and drug-related topics and the effects on the youth brain, Firearm Safety (via the FATS simulator), Crime Scene, and other various duties associated with law enforcement. Details are still being finalized. For more information, follow the Wentzville Police Department’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WentzvillePD.
