Fall Tree Seminar 2018
Visionary participants joined Wentzville Parks and Recreation for an educational seminar and tree-planting event on Oct. 27 at Peruque Valley Park. More than 34 volunteers attended the seminar to learn about choosing a quality tree, excellent planting practices and eco-benefits that are provided by urban tree canopy. An enthusiastic group listened to guest speaker Danny Moncheski, Community Forester of the Missouri Department of Conservation, give the presentation.
After the presentation, participants donated their time to plant 10, 2-inch caliper trees along Peruque Valley Park trails. It was a beautiful day and future generations will enjoy their planting efforts for years to come.
Be sure to save the date and join Wentzville Parks and Recreation for our spring Tree Seminar: “Invasive Plants, Tree Selections and Ordinances,” which will be held in conjunction with Mission: Clean Stream on April 6, 2019.
